Contact Those Who Can Help Student Called “Gay Boy” By SC Teacher Alan Ingram

Though action is being taken, public reaction helps, by emailing and calling the school where the situation supposedly took place, the staff, faculty and administration that should know what is going on and those who are involved on seeing the incident is addressed, along with local and nationwide LGBT support groups and advocates who should know about the situation, may be able to give a helping hand and make sure all parties involved get a fair trial and investigation. Also LGBT news outlets, media and personalities can be emailed and tweeted informing them about this too.

The more who know, the more will hopefully bring to light this type of situation, especially as the more “rights” a minority gets, leads to more incidences of hatred towards those minorities, as we saw when religious minorities, and blacks got more rights, LGBT people are getting attacked verbally and physically now more since the “overturning” of DOMA in places like Manhattan, always thought to be “safe” for LGBT! The following is just a partial list, a simple “Google” search will help you find others to contact

PFLAG Charleston ( sent me this after I contacted them, from AAFA-SC (Alliance For Full Acceptance South Carolina ):

“Lawsuit filed against Charleston County School District alleging abuse by a West Ashley HS teacher. The student says the teacher called him “gay,” “gay boy,” and other names, according to the complaint. He also alleges the teacher encouraged and asked other students to pick on him.”

I originally saw the story on Sept 6, 2013, over at AlterNet:

  1. Reblogged this on JerBear's Queer News, Views & Memories and commented:
    For your consideration…

  2. The teacher should be individually sued as well as the school authorities for failing to take action. If he owns a home slap an attachment on it until the suit is resolved. Serve hundreds of interrogatories on him so it consumes all his time and if he fails to answer any of them fully and completely, haul him into court each time to answer why. Make it the focus of his life for the next decade. Send him right into poverty trying to pay the attorneys’ fees to defend his actions. It’ll send a clear message to all the bullies out there what awaits them. Take his deposition by videotape and put it on Youtube afterwards. Encourage people in the community to shun him and his family. Don’t do business with him. Don’t wait on him or his family in restaurants. Don’t talk to them. Don’t acknowledge their existence.

  3. I emailed this SOB. Disgusting! And he is still teaching?

    1. The website still lists Alan Ingram under “Faculty Directory” drop down menu tab, under “Mathematics” on top of the homepage tool bar “Staff”, so I am not sure. I just emailed every staff member and the superintendent and plan on contacting all superintendents in that school system.
